Tom Cruise: The Fflint Connection
|
Scrapbook For those wanting to know a bit more about Fflint Central's music creators, there is some biographical stuff on the About page. On this page though, the more intrepid explorer will find a collection of nuggets that offer a mixture of Fflinty scraps that we hope is entertaining and/or informative. One of the many delights is a reproduction of an article that was in the Sounds music paper -circa 1981- entitled "Forgive us our Synths". This was a great piece, set up as a 'debate' between some of the leading users (and abusers) of synthesisers at that moment in time. Some of the people involved have been etched into the walls of the 'experimental hall of fame' !!?! The article also comes with a couple of excellent photos featuring a youthful Boyd Rice, a combat-clad P-Orridge (well before the implants!), the 'Dorian Gray' figure of Karl Blake and the silken cheekbones and exotic form of Danielle Dax! We've had a few e-mails asking us about the Fflint Central name. This was named after the town of Fflint in North-East Wales: the place which reared the two heads which gave birth to the site and label. The local folk around these parts don't worship rugby or sing God-fearing hymns - that's left to those in the Southern Territory. Here, people are more into Dionysian revelry, pigeon racing and the occult. If you are ever travelling along the A55 or A548 roads, we would strongly recommend you call in to Fflint or any neighbouring town, step into one of the local taverns and unwind with a hearty meal and a few choice ales and enjoy the art of 'character watching'. Yours in oscillation - Fflint Central. |
