Mail Update - No. 20June 30th, 2005

A couple of years ago, as reported in Mail Update No 14, Tim & Barry met up with the Head Honcho of Birdman Records, David Katznelson, during his visit to London. He proposed a compilation album for the Birdman label, not so much a 'greatest hits' (if such a thing can be imagined), but more of a typical cross-section of all the FfC artists and their releases up to that point. We eagerly obliged with 20 tracks by Berkowitz Lake & Dahmer, Pendro, Cavendish Sanguine, Oleum, Cousin Silas and The Gideon Leeches, all squeezed into 70 something minutes.

And now we can announce that the album is ready to tremble your earbones!:

This is quite an event for Fflint Central, being the first pressed (i.e. non CD-R) disc entirely devoted to FfC music and just as exciting is being welcomed into the fold of such a fantastically cool label as Birdman. Our thanks and gratitude to Dave and his team are enormous indeed. We really hope that this album finds new ears, hearts, souls and noses receptive to Fflinty sounds.

We understand that many of you will already own releases containing some of these tracks, but don't let that deter you from grabbing a copy of the compilation. Apart from having very snazzy artwork, liner notes from the mysterious Condor AND a barcode on the back(!), the album contains three previously unreleased (and very short) tracks. And we're very pleased that an album on BIRDman begins with a Demon BUDGIE and ends with a Cirrhotic CORMORANT.....

Although the 'official' release date is July 11th, it can be bought NOW direct from Birdman. Your support for this very special Fflinty album would make us go all gooey inside......

Onward and Upward!
