Mail Update - No. 13October 18th, 2003

THE WEBSITE

Regular readers of The Wire magazine may have noticed another Playlist (Mandrake Moon 15)within its pages recently, submitted by Mr Tim Jones.  This is the second FfC list to be published in The Wire and, as before, we've pasted it into the List Central  part of the Scrapbook.

There's a new addition to the About Fflint Central pagein the form of a mini-bio and painted self-portrait of Mr Joe Dalglish.  Joe lives and paints in Oregon and is an avid fan of FfC music;  so avid that he painted some excellent Fflint Central-inspired pictures, one of which is gracing the sleeve of the latest Cousin Silas album.  Many thanks to JD for his great work and love of our Fflinty efforts.

RELEASES

As just mentioned, the new Cousin Silas release is now available.  The tracks have been in our sweaty clutches for quite a while, so big apologies to The Cousin for taking so long to release this dark and mysterious full-length album.

Portraits & Peelings

Bug Lady
Olympus Mons
Lesser Spotted Loopwing
Congealer
Rossini Pump Device
Butter of Death
Hologram Chopper

Window Spinnerets
Out of a Neutron Sea
Atonement With Beasts
Glass Ravine
Retreat to the Tide

You can hear three of the tracks by clicking on the links.

Silas has been sticking his fingers in some other non-Fflint pies over the last year. He's contributed to tracks on two albums by Census of Hallucinations on the Stone Premonitions label:

'Little Sir Echo on Warlock Hill' on 'Seventh Heaven'

'Begin Again' on 'The 8th Dwarf'

and tells us that other projects are in the pipeline.

By the way, the Tim Jones in COH should not be confused with our very own Timbo.

TRICLOPS

Just time to mention that Manchester's finest purveyors of high-voltage electronicity will be performing at Manchester's Star & Garter on Monday, October 20th.  The gruesome threesome are supporting Matthew Bower's Sunroof! and Massachusett's dozen-membered gang of sound explorers, Sunburned Hand of the Man. Of course, you could decide to miss it, but that would be silly.

Finally, UK listeners may have heard Radio 1's John Peel playing that My Malady compilation a heck of a lot recently: a track per show in the last fortnight.  Even better, he spun BLD's 'Gangrene'.  We're very grateful and very 'umbled......
